Mazda CX-30 vs Mazda CX-5: Engine Specs and Options

The 2020 Mazda CX-30 is equipped with a SKYACTIV®-G 2L inline 4 engine at its baseline trim.

Additional engine options for the 2020 Mazda CX-30 model include the next-generation SKYACTIV®-X engine and a SKYACTIV®-D diesel engine, now being implemented in the Mazda CX-5 and Mazda6 models.

 

The 2019 Mazda CX-5 has three engine options.

The standard engine is a SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L inline 4 engine that produces 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. This engine is equipped on the Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring trim levels.

The upgraded engine is a SKYACTIV® 2.5L turbocharged inline 4 engine that produces 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. This engine is equipped on the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trim levels.

Additionally, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 SUV now has a SKYACTIV®-D diesel engine option that improves upon fuel economy and produces 168 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque.

Mazda CX-30 vs Mazda CX-5: Transmission Options

The 2020 Mazda CX-30 has two transmission options. Those are the SKYACTIV®-M 6-speed manual transmission and the SKYACTIV®-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission.

The 2019 Mazda CX-5 only has one transmission options across all of its trim levels. That is the SKYACTIV®-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing for the 2020 Mazda CX-30 has not yet been announced.

When is the 2020 Mazda CX-30 Release Date?

The 2020 Mazda CX-30 is still scheduled for a summer release date in 2019. Therefore, drivers anticipating this new Mazda model shouldn’t have to wait too much longer.
