Local Events to Check Out For St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is only a couple weeks away, and the city of Scranton, PA is buzzing with events planned for the event.  From restaurant and pub specials to evening parties and parades, there’s something for everyone. At Kelly Mazda, our employees found a few great events in the area you might want to check out if you haven’t already; check it out!

The Celtic Tenors

One event coming up soon is at The Theater at North, where “The Celtic Tenors” will be performing this Saturday, March 7th.  The show begins at 8:00 pm and will be filled with world-class renditions of Celtic songs, classics, and other forms of music from the globally renowned tenor group. Ticket prices range from $40-$45 dollars while the show will start at 7:30 pm.

Parade Day Eve

To kick off Scranton’s Parade Day weekend, stop on into the Anthracite Heritage Museum on Friday, March 13th for their second-annual Parade Day Eve.  No need to be worried about the date – you’ll be too busy enjoying yourself with food, drinks, entertainment, and unique raffle prizes! Tickets are $25 per person, and the fun lasts from 6:00-9:00 pm.

Lighted St. Patrick’s Parade

One unique St. Patrick’s Day experience you can have ahead of time is at the Lighted St. Patrick’s Parade on March 13th. Located in Carbondale, this event is filled with live music, bagpipers, and food & drink specials around the town.  The night parade starts at 7:00 pm and only gets even more colorful as the night continues. Those who don’t want the party to stop can also check out the “Official After-Party” at the Anthracite Center.

Scranton St. Patrick’s Parade

The main St. Patrick’s Day event staple has always been the Scranton St. Patrick’s Parade, which is the largest in all of Pennsylvania.  The parade welcomes people of all ages, as it steps off at 11:45 am on March 14th.  Parade Day Mass takes place at St. Peter’s Cathedral at 10:00 am, while the Brian P. Kelly memorial two-mile footrace begins at 11:00 am.
