Mazda MX-30 EV – Exterior Design

Surprisingly, the Mazda MX-30 breaks free from, or rather evolves past, the iconic KODO design concept and language of the Mazda brand. Wanting to present and all new and revolutionary look, Mazda engineers created what they call the ‘Human Modern’ concept. On the outside, this translated to creating a body of a singular mass of beauty.

Mazda MX-30 EV – Interior Design

On the inside, Mazda engineers wanted to provide an open feeling to the cabin, giving the experience of a driver living alongside the car in harmony. This provided the Mazda MX-30 interior with an image and feeling of friendliness and lightness as Mazda aimed to capture the expression of ‘openness’, which they interpreted as a streamlined and minimalized design free of clutter that offers comfort and ease. Additionally, the Mazda MX-30 uses high-quality, premium, and environmentally friendly materials such as wood bark harvested only from trees without felling, and exclusive breathing fiber made from recycled materials.

Mazda MX-30 EV – Electric Powertrain and Performance

SKYACTIV®-Vehicle Architecture goes beyond style and comfort as it creates the perfect structure for a new era of electric performance for the Mazda brand. With the Mazda MX-30, Mazda has created a brand-new drive system. This electric drive technology has been dubbed e-SKYACTIV®.

Additionally, to enhance the debut of an all-new electric drive system, Mazda has paired e-SKYACTIV® with electric G-Vectoring Control Plus (e-GVC Plus), providing precise torque control and smooth transitional behavior to provide the expected expert control and driving joy known to the Mazda brand despite the change in powertrain.

Mazda MX-30 EV – Safety

The Mazda MX-30 does much to improve driver and passenger active safety under the Mazda Proactive Safety philosophy. The i-ACTIVSENSE® suite is strengthened in its implementation into the Mazda MX-30 model with newly tuned functionality to driver-assistance features and the Mazda MX-30 body design that improves passive safety with strong structure and impact absorption.

Features from i-ACTIVSENSE® suite highlighted at the Mazda MX-30 2019 Tokyo Motor Show debut include:
