What are the differences between the 2019 Mazda CX-9 and 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe?
One of the major differences between the 2019 Mazda CX-9 and the competing 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is the amount of space available in each vehicle. The seven-passenger CX-9 offers enough room for a large family and then some, while the Hyundai Santa Fe offers just five passenger seats. The CX-9 is equipped with three rows of seating and 14.4 cubic feet of standard cargo space. For the days where you aren’t carrying as many passengers, you can fold down the third row of seats in the CX-9 to expand the cargo area to a spacious 38.2 cubic feet. If you need all of the room you can get in your CX-9 you can fold down the second and third row of seats to make up to 71.2 cubic feet of space. The 2019 Santa Fe offers a larger amount of standard cargo space due to the lack of third-row seating, but the 35.9 cubic feet of standard space is still smaller than what the CX-9 has to offer when the third-row is folded down.
The SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T Dynamic Pressure Turbo DOHC engine in the CX-9 delivers between 227 and 250 horsepower, depending on fuel type, and 310 pound-feet of torque each time you hit the road. The competing 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe delivers just 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque with its standard 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine.
