2019 Mazda CX-5 New Engine and Performance Features
The Mazda CX-5 is one of the few Mazda vehicles we haven’t yet gotten news of concerning a 2019 model update. However, that’s now beginning to change. Although no official information has been released, documents from Mazda Canada have been leaked, revealing new updates to the upcoming 2019 Mazda CX-5. The most prominent of these new features include a 2.5L turbocharged engine and SKYACTIV™ TECHNOLOGY G-Vectoring control reconfigured and upgraded as G-Vectoring Control Plus.
2019 Mazda CX-5 2.5L Turbocharged Engine
A 2.5L turbocharged inline 4 engine is also found in the previous 2018 Mazda CX-9 and the current 2019 Mazda CX-9. This is likely where the 2.5L SKYACTIV®-G engine found in the upcoming 2019 Mazda CX-5 was taken from.
The engine specs relating to the 2019 Mazda CX-5 have not yet been released. However, the engine specs for this same engine when equipped inside the 2019 Mazda CX-9 are as follows. The 2019 Mazda CX-9, with its 2.5L turbocharged inline 4 engine, has 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.
2019 Mazda CX-5 G-Vectoring Control Plus
Next, we have G-Vectoring Control Plus. Previous Mazda models have had G-Vectoring Control, coming included with SKYACTIV®-VEHICLE DYNAMICS. However, this is the first we’ve heard of G-Vectoring Control Plus. G- Vectoring Control assists with responsive handling by optimizing balance and load control. Therefore, it seems that the 2019 Mazda CX-5 will debut the new evolution of G-Vectoring Control with its G-Vectoring Control Plus.
