How is the 2020 Mazda3 Hatchback Different From Other 2020 Mazda Models?

The Difference Between the 2020 Mazda3 Hatchback and Other 2020 Mazda Models

When deciding what vehicle to purchase, it can take time to compare 2020’s models to one another.  Especially when looking through our great inventory here at Kelly Mazda, you may want to find that vehicle with the perfect balance of function and comfort. Look no more, as we look into what makes the 2020 Mazda3 Hatchback different from our other 2020 base models here at Kelly Mazda!

Storage and Space

In general, the Mazda3 Hatchback is different because of its nature. As a hatchback, the vehicle’s rear accessibility helps with storage.  While all of Mazda’s 2020 models boast comfortable and spacious seating, the Mazda3 Hatchback goes the extra step. Where the Mazda CX-3, CX-9, and CX-30 do feature rear cargo space, the Mazda3 has one of the larger areas of the four with 20.1 cubic feet of space.  In terms of legroom, the Mazda3 owns the largest amount in the front with 41.7 inches total.  However, it doesn’t stack up as well to other base models in the backseat, as it only 35.1” for its rear passengers.

Engine and Fuel Economy

Outside of storage, the Mazda3’s engine and options are slightly different than other models.  All the model’s trim levels feature a 186 horsepower, 4-cylinder 2.5 L engine with SKYACTIV®-G technology.  The engine is the same as the CX-30, and is slightly smaller than the CX-9’s stronger 2.5 turbocharged engine that features 250 horsepower.  The curb weight of the vehicle also ranks as one of the lighter models at just 3,082 lbs.  Both these points translate into a strong 35 EPA-estimated highway MPG, which narrowly rates as the best fuel economy out of any of the new 2020 Mazda models.

Customization Options

If you are thinking about upgrading to a higher trim level, the Mazda3 Hatchback also has several unique options like other 2020 models. With the Preferred Package, the biggest difference is its all-wheel drive.  This option will lower the vehicle’s MPG but will allow for better traction on the roads and can handle any changing weather patterns.  Also, the higher Mazda3 trim levels feature a 12-speaker Bose® premium audio system that is perfect for those jam sessions on long car trips.

As you can tell, the 2020 Mazda3 Hatchback is a versatile and well-balanced vehicle in Mazda’s 2020 base lineup.  With a quality engine, plenty of storage space, and a chance for improved features at higher trim levels, we at Kelly Mazda highly recommend stopping in to check out this vehicle!
